This short talk is a brief overview of a complicated and often misdiagnosed clinical presentation, known as Xinbi (心痺) or Heart Block in the Huangdi Neijing. Here David White looks into four key components: defining xinbi within the Huangdi Neijing, associated paired and directional pathology, implications in clinical practice, and needling methodology. Included is a discussion on the four primary lines associated with Xinbi: 1. Central Accumulation, 2. Jueqi, 3. Yangming Surplus, and 4. Pulse Presentation. As this is a short talk of only 30 minutes or so, much of the content is foundational. This talk is a small insight into a much larger future seminar on all Bi based presentations in the Neijing.
